Bliss.
Tomorrow, it’ll be two years since my mother passed away.
As most of you know by now, she passed away from advance stages of Cancer.
I wish I could say that it’s gotten easier.
But it really hasn’t.
I find myself thinking about her consistently.
I bring her up in conversation a lot.
More so than I did when she was alive.
Everything reminds me of her.
I still miss her and that’ll never change.
I’m still working on the book about her.
I think that’s why I think about her more than one would think.
My brother and I are going to visit her at the cemetery.
People say that you shouldn’t bring flowers.
It’s haram or whatever.
But honestly, I don’t care. She liked tulips and red roses.
Maybe I’ll pick up some nice tulips or something.
I think she’d like that.
Hug your parents.
Hug your mother. Tightly. Because one day, you’ll wake up and she won’t be there anymore.
Kiss her. Tell her you love her. Ask her about her day. Ask her to tell you stories.
Remember those stories. So you can tell your kids. And they can tell their kids.
I love you, Mama. Always and forever.
